Submission + - Singapore To Cut Off Internet Access For Government Workers From 2017 (thestack.com)

An anonymous reader writes: Government workers will return to a 1990s-level of net connectivity from May of 2017, as the government decides to blockade internet access on all its 100,000 computers. The decision has been made in the interests of national security, although the Draconian policy will still permit workers to forward work mails to private email addresses as necessary. Workers' own devices will be allowed to connect to the internet normally by special terminals being provided in early trials, while intra-departmental connectivity will presumably be maintained via VPN tunnelling. The move comes in the direct wake of a visit to Singapore from U.S. Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter late last week, promoting stronger security ties with Singapore in the face of the rise of China in the region.

Try the Better Business Bureau.

I kept getting emails from Geico, some insurance agency in the US. I contacted them several times to try to get them to stop, but it was the same scenario - you had to log in to update your contact details. After a few months, I filed a complaint with the BBB in Washington DC where Geico is located. A couple weeks later, BBB forwarded me an email from Geico saying they had removed my email address.

It would be nice if these places would try to verify email addresses or at least make it easy to contact them.

Here are my numbers:

US: 8% tax rate
UK: 20% tax rate

But in the UK I don't pay for health care, private school (because the schools are better here), car (because the public transport is better here), etc etc.

In addition I have lost weight because the food is so terrible. It really is.
