Comment Very very sad! (Score 2) 349

I suppose that this guy would have made himself a glorious career in the Gestapo. In a a democracy however there is no room for totalitarian fascists like him. I wonder why a person like this can get to such a high position in the CIA? Maybe this says something about the level of democracy in the US of A ( and the rest of the world for that matter)?

Comment Musicians are meant make a living from conerts (Score 1) 244

Music videos and cd's are meant to be promotional tools to get people to go to concerts. The entire music business has spun totally out of control. First of all its not meant to be a business in the first place. You are not supposed to get rich from playing music. You are supposed to be gratefull if you can get by by playing music. If your sole purpose of being a musician is to get stinking rich, then quit and become an investment banker. There is a reason why its called music: thats because you are playing and not working. The folks complaining about Spotify should be happy that there is a mefium available which allows them to reach millions of people for free

Disputed Island Disappears Into Sea 460

RawJoe writes "India and Bangladesh have argued for almost 30 years over control of a tiny island in the Bay of Bengal. Now rising sea levels have ended the argument for them: the island's gone. From the article: 'New Moore Island, in the Sunderbans, has been completely submerged, said oceanographer Sugata Hazra, a professor at Jadavpur University in Calcutta. Its disappearance has been confirmed by satellite imagery and sea patrols, he said. "What these two countries could not achieve from years of talking, has been resolved by global warming," said Hazra.'"

Android 2.0 SDK Released, Google Maps Navigation Announced 121

stoolpigeon writes "The Android 2.0 SDK is now available from Google. This puts to bed concerns about Google not releasing the SDK or perhaps being in some kind of exclusivity deal with Verizon around 2.0. The release notes give a nice overview of what is there. Those who already have the SDK can grab the updated tools as SDK components; everyone else will pick up everything when downloading the new SDK." Relatedly, reader riffzifnab reports that Google has also announced Google Maps Navigation, a GPS application for Android 2.0 that takes voice input and integrates with internet searches and Street View.

Google Voice Apps Arrive For Android and Blackberry 106

Mark Mathson writes "Two Google Voice apps have been released for Blackberry and Android phones. The Android app is the most complete, and it takes over the native dialer, address book and call log. Users won't be bothered with accidentally dialing numbers through the device phone number. The Blackberry app is less integrated, accessing only the native address book, and uses its own dialer. Users can't simply go into the call log and return missed calls. They need to go back to the address book and select Google Voice to make the call. Still, it solves a big problem. The apps also allow users to access the core features of Google Voice. You can listen to or read voicemails and text messages (all voicemails are automatically transcribed), access call history, send SMS messages and place international calls at low rates."
