Slashdot used to be a cool place where to discuss this kind of stuff, not it's almost impossible to have a scientific dialogue about those things (I know I know since it's not reproducible it's not scientific but you've got the idea). The discussion is polarized in : 1) those are aliens 2) mylar balloons or UAV. This to me raise a few questions that are
- really the military with billions of dollars cannot identify a balloon or UAV?
- if it's enemy intelligence, secret (also to military) activities of some kind of "agency", why releasing to the public this kind of stuff?
- in a zone closed to military training we have no radar, satellites, any kind of other data to mix with the cam footage? Did anyone checked this stuff before releasing it? I don't believe either in manipulation of the masses, other conspiracy theories, but really don't understand why this stuff comes out
