FOSS CAD and 3D Modeling Software? 413

Paul server guy writes "I work at a privately funded, open source, manned, return to the moon mission — Yes really, and Yes, we really are going to put man (and woman) back on the moon. Since we are open source, we want all of our tools to be, too. What we are looking for is CAD software that we can feed into Blender (or the like) to do 3D modeling with. Many of the engineers have tried working with Blender and Art of Illusion, but have not been pleased. They want to just draw the parts, then feed them to the art people who will run them through the 3D modelers for videos, illustrations and such. What is your preference?"

A Black Day For Internet Freedom In Germany 420

Several readers including erlehmann and tmk wrote to inform us about the dawning of Internet censorship in Germany under the usual guise of protecting the children. "This week, the two big political parties ruling Germany in a coalition held the final talks on their proposed Internet censorship scheme. DNS queries for sites on a list will be given fake answers that lead to a page with a stop sign. The list itself is maintained by the German federal police (Bundeskriminalamt). A protest movement has formed over the course of the last several months, and over 130K citizens have signed a petition protesting the law. Despite this, and despite criticism from all sides, the two parties sped up the process for the law to be signed on Thursday, June 18, 2009."

Sorry, as cute as your story sounds, it's completely wrong. You probably confuse the history of the Korean writing system (Hangul) with the Korean language. While the writing system was indeed created and introduced by royal order in the 15th century, spoken Korean evolved in a long process from languages of the Han and Buyeo tribes (with similarities to other languages in the Altaic family of languages) to a somewhat unified language in Unified Shila in the 7th century. Today's Korean language is the result of morphological and phonological changes to middle Korean that occured around the 16th or 17th century. Please check your facts. :)
