Comment Re:The UX is going to drive him nuts (Score 1) 175

UX is highly subjective. My opinion is basically the exact opposite. I find OSX to be a usability catastrophe, and by far the worst of the 4 different desktop environments I run. I find basic things like sensible window management to be completely missing in OSX. I am more productive when using Fedorea / KDE for development work, as an example.

The difference being that once a transaction is written to the chain, it has no future value. The only revenue generated from Bitcoin is in the form of mining and gas fees, and that money is expected to be extracted from the chain to exchange for goods, and that revenue goes to the people that did the mining or charged the gas fees, not to the people that hold the currency. Think of it this way, if everyone tried to sell all bitcoin in existence, the result would be a massively negative sum of value. If all shareholders sold all Tesla stock, the company could still produce cars and would still have revenue. Tesla being overvalued is irrelevant, the company has assets and generates revenue. Bitcoin, from the perspective of someone that holds Bitcoin currency, does neither.

Comment Apple is far worse? (Score 1) 269

Strange this author doesn't have the same concerns with Apple? OSX is a complete dumpster fire, and some how Apple gets the reputation of being easy to use. Likewise, Amazon property is all pretty bad. Without presenting a big tech company that has 'good' UI as an alternative, it's pretty strange to shit on Google specifically. To each their own, I guess.

Hypersonic missiles are effective because they hit their target at hypersonic speeds, where typical anti-missile counter measures (like Phalanx) have a much harder time destroying the missile. I should think the majority of anti-ship missiles never come close to going into orbit. In fact, the more common method of attack right now is for the missile to cruise at sub-sonic speeds for the majority of the approach, and then only when within radar range of the target does the missile accelerate to hypersonic. Further, by definition, hypersonic speed is not really possible in orbit, as hypersonic refers to the speed at which molecules start to ionize around the vehicle due to air resistance; ergo, you require atmosphere to travel at hypersonic speed... So yes, hypersonic missiles are not magic, but they do hit their targets at hypersonic speeds, which is the whole point of designing such a missile. Pretty ill-informed post on your part, I think.
