Journal: How would you guys go about fundraising online?

If this post annoys anyone, forgive me, but sometimes you have to look for answers wherever you can. I am a senior in high school and I am working on a project. My project is a hovercraft fly by wire system which I am going to install on a hovercraft that I am building. Essentially, I am taking a UH 14P hovercraft and using either a linear actuator or a digital servo to control the control surfaces. The motors will be controlled via a basic stamp device(the Issaac32 microcontroller) and the microcontroller reports sensor readings to a on board low power Via PC. The last few details I'm saving until its done, but I can certainly say that the machine will be very cool. My question is, how would you guys go about fund raising online? I have seen all sorts of random give me money for this or that sites, but it seems to me that by the time a site like that would generate enough traffic to actually attract someone who would say "what the hell, I'll give the kid five bucks" it would be the end of the school year (and way past my deadline of April 27th). I don't want to ask here on Slashdot as I'm sure thats frowned upon, but suggestions would be very much appreciate. On a side note, reading over my preview, it sounds like I haven't started. Thats very far from true. I have a lot of stuff and I started in November, but I'm going to need like $800 in a few months, so I figured I'd start looking now.
