Really, I'd like to love Firefox, but it's so hard. It's slow, lagging behind and quite frankly it's fugly. Yet I consider it to be so important for diversity.

I agree with some of it (Google Analytics is hell), but seriously, Gmail is not "worse than anything else out there". It really really isn't. I took this seriously for a second, but then the complete exaggerations started...

I bought an ASUS netbook with 2GB RAM and 32 GB SSD a few years ago. I can confirm that it's not enough even for Windows 10 alone which will fail to do any major updates because there's just not enough disk space. The trick with the external USB drive for temporary space failed spectacularly and I was unable to salvage the windows installation. Since then I run it with Debian and that is very okay with the disk space. Only the 2GB RAM are sometimes a bit annoying. $140 for a netbook is quite a good deal if you are willing to run Linux.

Nothing about this news is about drugs, why does it need to be mentioned three whole freaking times? One time even prominently in the title. Imagine you invent something great and new only to be introduced as "Roberto Escobar, brother of the late drug lord".

Why are we talking about data busses? This is about the processor, isn't it? Or am I mistaken that the size of CPU registers is not necessarily related to data bus width?

Does anyone seriously believe that this nuclear waste will still be around in 10'000 years? Or even 1'000 years? It wouldn't even surprise me if that problem is gone already in 100 years or even less. If you look at the development of science in the past 100 years, I am really very confident that in 100 years, we will have tons of fancy uses for that nuclear waste; and if we don't, we'll have tons of fancy ways to make it harmless or to get rid of it. It's also a mistake to believe that any human can make any useful thoughts about the future civilisation of in 10'000 years. Don't bother trying, you're not that smart, sorry. The future is more than capable of handling this.
