Comment libreoffice (Score 0) 145

I know it's linux, but it has now been almost 15 years later, and to be honest, I didn't really see much improvement in libreoffice/openoffice in comparison with microsoft office 2003. I tried libreoffice writer a few times, I can work with it, it has a few features on more logic positions than msword, but it feels older than word 2003. Powerpoint 2003 alternative Impress, could use a lot of love, animations still look terrible, I even was hoping on a few nice animations, by using pixelshaders or so. But only really primitive animations, not any nice alternatives.

It's nice microsoft intelligence, but most of the time, it's wrong, so instead of an other person who constantly prevents you from finishing your sentences, you got a stupid computer preventing you from writing your code.... Yippie... I guess I need to find a different job....

Comment selective news agencies (Score 0) 624

People want to know what's happening. The problem today is (my opinion) mostly that news agencies are very selective, self censoring. For example Kurden are mostly put as terrorists, only when they do something back it's published. About the greatest organ harvest in the world going on for years in China, almost nothing is published, China doesn't want it, so most news keeps quiet. So quiet, that people don't believe its happening. As long as people who's organs are harvest (mostly falun gong), don't riot, like black people in USA, news agencies are not interested. It mostly sensation news what is getting popular.

I bought a mac pro 2008, in 3 years it needed 4 times reparations, bringing the mac pro to a mac shop (losing it for at least 3 days), after warranty was over, it broke down, costs > 750 euro for replacing old stuff with other old stuff. Bought a new PC for less than 1/3 the mac pro costs me, it has been running for more than 5 years now, and makes less noise, and is even much faster.

Still waiting after > 5 years for the next Intel Chip worth its money (still have a 2600K). They complain people don't buy, but they don't offer something that useful and much faster. If I need to buy a new CPU that is more green, but need 15 years before I got my money back in energy costs. Every 2 years I bought a new PC, I really noticed it becoming much faster. I don't need a better intel GPU, I just use a cheap NVIDIA it's probably much faster anyway...
