Yes, Gary was a genius and CP/M was revolutionary for its time (1970s). He had his chance with IBM and didnâ(TM)t want to play ball. DOS quickly surpassed CP/M in not just market share but capabilities (subdirectories, pipes, etc). I run both on retro computers today and there is a clear difference.

The âoestolenâ claim is complete BS. Anyone can download the code and see that for themselves.

And yes I know that UNIX had pipes and subdirs first and this is clearly acknowledged in the DOS 2 source.

Good points! However, itâ(TM)s still hard to fathom all of those adding up to a 1000x increase in resources. I used to do all the things I do now (program, write documents, email, and web) in 8MB of RAM.

Of course back then there werenâ(TM)t telemetry services recording your every brainwave either :)

Rokus are great. I have owned one for 10+ years. Easy to use, responsive, well designed remotes, and they even added NEW features 5+ years after I bought it.

After 10 years I finally replaced it. They gave me a good deal and I like the new one too.

Agreed on Smart TVs - I always prefer Roku to the built in stinkware.

We have had armed civilians for 250 years. Whatâ(TM)s different now is the near complete destruction of civility thanks to the reality distortion field that is the internet and 2.5 years of âoeall other humans are a threat to your existenceâ talk. Death bots certainly arenâ(TM)t going to help anyone recover from that!
