No one expects the gas company to make sure youâ(TM)re not using their product to cook meth. No one ever gets their power disconnected because they were growing marijuana in their house. Why should your Internet provider be any different?
Yes, Gary was a genius and CP/M was revolutionary for its time (1970s). He had his chance with IBM and didnâ(TM)t want to play ball. DOS quickly surpassed CP/M in not just market share but capabilities (subdirectories, pipes, etc). I run both on retro computers today and there is a clear difference.
The âoestolenâ claim is complete BS. Anyone can download the code and see that for themselves.
And yes I know that UNIX had pipes and subdirs first and this is clearly acknowledged in the DOS 2 source.
Did Bill Clinton secretly write this paper?
Honestly, itâ(TM)s powerful enough for most casual home use. Itâ(TM)s a shame that theyâ(TM)re taking it away and forcing you to buy the kitchen sink (Word) or select an open source alternative.
Good points! However, itâ(TM)s still hard to fathom all of those adding up to a 1000x increase in resources. I used to do all the things I do now (program, write documents, email, and web) in 8MB of RAM.
Of course back then there werenâ(TM)t telemetry services recording your every brainwave either
I think everyone is missing the larger point. Modern software is so bloated and wasteful that it takes half a billion bytes just to read a news article? WTF!
You do realize CurlyBraces didnt write the browser, right? Thats just like the modern tech industry to throw together a stack of crap that doesnt work and then blame the users. Probably the kind of garbage the OP is looking to get away from.
If there were just one Linux distro this (and many other problems) would not exist
If by âoegivingâ you mean âoenot takingâ.
Rokus are great. I have owned one for 10+ years. Easy to use, responsive, well designed remotes, and they even added NEW features 5+ years after I bought it.
After 10 years I finally replaced it. They gave me a good deal and I like the new one too.
Agreed on Smart TVs - I always prefer Roku to the built in stinkware.
And would this death bot be built by the same tech industry that canâ(TM)t have a phone/browser/website combo that formats apostrophes correctly? (As evidenced by my previous post)
We have had armed civilians for 250 years. Whatâ(TM)s different now is the near complete destruction of civility thanks to the reality distortion field that is the internet and 2.5 years of âoeall other humans are a threat to your existenceâ talk. Death bots certainly arenâ(TM)t going to help anyone recover from that!
Canadians must live a really freaking long time then!
Well it did not help that during the first month of the pandemic our experts told us NOT to wear masks. That doesnâ(TM)t help build trust/credibility.
