Software development is a profession, treat it as such. You're paid to do a good job, so do it. If you can't find satisfaction in testing the code, find satisfaction in knowing that you've completed a quality piece of software (which includes testing and documentation). You'll enjoy your job a lot more if you approach it like this, and others will recognise the effort.
