You should positively pay attention to what this poster says, however...
the bootie load of pros outweigh the cons.
After four years of consulting I am convinced that it is the only way to work.
For those starting out, even those who may be doing this only to get into a full time employee position, you will find the degree of autonomy refreshing.
Do not be afraid of taxation. Hire an accountant. A qualified one will save you way more than they cost. Also, this will provide you a perfect opportunity to interview professionals for a job (as your accountant).
Do not be afraid of starting a company or corporate structure. All new things are scary.
Take the contract. You will learn all kinds of new things about business. Even if you do later choose to suckle on the corporate breast as an employee, the thrill of trying something new will bring you hours full of entertainment, and also really great party conversation.
