Another round of designs meant to be built for dry arid environments whose total rainfall is under 100mm/year!!! Great and since most of these designs are expensive the developed countries who can afford them can't use them (because they face all 4 seasons) and aren't practical (pets coats shoes kids etc). But yes I see the word DESIGN and as a M.E explained to me in regards to LEED(s) the emphasis is on the last word; it doesn't have to work to any practical sense/use it just has to work as per the original DESIGN..

Getty is in the business of making money, they might dress it up with the "need to inform" or "supplying power visual media", but at the end of the day shareholders need to get paid, if they can do this through some cheaper means and still make the cash they need, they will. So my big prediction; flickr users are going to get used!!!

I see ads everywhere I go, in every media I consume. Television, Print, and Radio constantly present me with a barrage of ads that attempt to sell me a product I don't want, don't care about, and more often then not; do not need. I block ads because of the latter reason listed above. I don't want to find people I went to high school with, I don't want to meet refreshing singles in my area, I don't want to participate in a contest for some product... I want my content! To Mr. Fisher, About four paragraphs into your ed. piece you say someone always brings in the argument pitting traditional media advertising against "new media" and you mention relevant factors such as potential audience. TIVO, Sirius/XM those are two technologies that can allow the consumer to experience the content they want to enjoy relatively ad-free. These technologies cost money to the consumer to enjoy. People pay because there are no ads. If your content is worth all the money that it gets from advertising, and according to your article, it is. Then charge for your content. That will be the quickest way to see if you really have a top quality publication. This is the internet, old-skool rules still in some way apply; advertisements still bring in money.

where I work in HVAC the term this poster is alluding to ("Cranking") is LRA or Locked Rotor Amps On motor/compressor ratings this means the amount of energy a motor/compressor will take if the rotor was (yeah you guess it) locked. This value is often 3-5 times (12A = 60 LRA) the running amperage value. Because the motors/compressors are typically started while stationary they are in a "locked" state. Thus starting them will require much energy. This should be kept in mind when starting multiple loads which have a typically high LRA (compressors on Fridges, Freezers, Blowers in Furnaces, etc). Also, most generators have a "peak" and "running" (3500W PEAK, 3000W nominal) rate so make sure you know what the generator can handle under a normal running mode Good Luck!!!
