This is an addition to the metadata panel in google photos: date, place, exif data; the product where you store your own photos and share with friends and family. That's NOT Google Image Search most people are thinking about being full of fake images.
It's a reminder for the photo owner that the image does not represent the reality they experienced, not a warning notice for others. So no, this isn't about addressing fakes and bad actors, it's about adding useful information for photo storage users.
15 mins is usually a little faster than I am. A break after driving 200 miles is welcome.
I tried to read the source article but was immediately presented with a dialog to accept their TOS, so I closed the page read fast before I accidentally assented to my future murder.
Oh honey.
Oh, I thought it would read 'Venmo and Zelle May Not Be For Much Longer'.
Wow, that flipped from "This will put publishers out of business" to "I don't think it'll do a good job and there are limitations" real fast. It's fine to not want this but "it's too good, and also it's too bad" doesn't make a ton of sense.
Also a subset of drivers that are using an app to pay for charging. Plug-and-charge is a much better experience anyway.
If a place has a toilet and somewhere to buy a drink then it has enough things to do while an EV charges.
Well currently this plant runs off the local grid, which the article states is only 40% renewables.
They use carbon that would be released straight into the air from nearby petroleum refining. Which is then released when the synth-fuel is burned, so delayed emissions with a little more utility added. While the article portrays it as something like carbon neutral, that's only if you take as granted that those tons of carbon would have been emitted anyway. It's certainly not actually carbon neutral as in spending energy to capture carbon from the air, as that would make their usable energy conversion efficiency even worse.
Or just charge these problem consumers the SAME as everyone else. Commercial electric rates are currently 28% LESS than residential rates in Virginia. Why give a discount for bulk purchases when there is a shortfall in supply?
This site has some really interesting stats and graphics about where and how power is generated: https://www.eia.gov/electricit...
