Since when did it become a crime to be a Christian? Why can't people accept that there may be other ways to look at things other than their own? How many times has "science" gotten it wrong? It seem like every time. Scientist keep revising and changing what is true. You have to agree with the latest scientific fad or you are labeled "stupid". Seriously? Are people that afraid of other beliefs that you cast out others because they believe differently? I would think if you truely believed in your beliefs you would feel sympathetic towards others who do not. Using name calling is typically a sign of weakness and a last resort when you don't have any good arguments to make.

Seriously, are you going to try to twist this into the "Us Poor, poor Christians are soooo persecuted" crap?

He knew people were not happy with him hassling them. Especially if he was lead and had any authority at all over them. He kept at it.

An anonymous reader writes "Researchers from Australia, Denmark, and China have combined efforts to show the feasibility of terabit-per-second Ethernet over fiber-optic cables. The solution involves a photonic chip that uses laser light for switching signals, and a form of the exotic material type, chalcogenide, or arsenic trisulfide."

Palm Pulls the Plug On Palm OS 300

BobB-nw writes to tell us that Palm has decided to kill their PalmOS operating system and is instead betting their future on a still mostly unknown Palm webOS. Very little is known about the new Palm webOS, but it will supposedly support HTML5 and enable a local data store so that applications can be used both online and off. All of this is rolled into a Linux framework with a message bus based on JSON. Will be interesting to see where they take it.

In the future, technology like this could make it possible to keep in contact with friends in other virtual worlds and MMOs without having to log out. Imagine orcs and space commandos existing in alternate realities but still in contact!"

Major Spike in Security Threats To Online Games 48

Gamasutra reports on data from security software firm ESET, which shows a major increase in the number of gaming-related security threats over the last year. They attribute the rise in attacks to the amount of money involved in the games industry these days. ESET's full report (PDF) is also available. "[ESET's research director, Jeff Debrosse] explains: 'It's a two-phase attack. If someone's account was compromised, then someone else can actually [using their avatar] during a chat session, or through in-game communication... they could leverage that people trust this person and point them at various URLs, and those URLs will either have drive-by malware or a specific [malware] executable. What ends up happening is that folks may end up downloading and using it. This is just one methodology.' These attackers also target gamers in external community sites, says Debrosse, through 'banners on websites or URLs in chat rooms or forums' — which can lead to unsafe URLs. 'If [users] don't have adequate protection, they could very well be downloading malware without their knowledge.'"
