Comment Re:So much disinformation... (Score 1) 152

Oh my god. So much disinformation YOU are providing. Get REAL! Venezuela has a dictatorship where all possible freedoms are being restricted such that the government keeps doing what it does best: Sink the entire country into a hell worse than Cuba in favour of a few red millionaires. The CENSORSHIP is happening every day as the media is not allowed to show images of the demonstrations. Why is the DICTATORSHIP so scared of demonstrations? It is just unbelievable that there are still plenty of idiots refusing to see the reality of a country subsumed in its worst crisis ever with the same "government" for the past 15 years which still blames the opposition for the entire crisis. I wish the media would instead shut you up from spreading your bulls**t rather than shutting up the MASSIVE demonstrations around the country.

Comment Prepare to handle support (Score 1) 176

I have an open source project and people often sends me emails to my personal account instead of the community account. At first, I forwarded the emails to the community, but then I realized that it was a terrible practice as I never knew how confidential their information was. Nowadays, whenever I get an email to my personal account, I ask for donations if they wish to keep it confidential. Otherwise, I ask them to please forward the email to the community instead. I think it makes sense as I do not want to repeat myself over problems others have already had.

I think another step is to set up a donation account and cross your fingers for donations. In this respect, may be a PayPal account would do, although they require you to do legal paperwork to register as a non-profit, or else pay higher fees. It would be great to have better _world-wide_ alternatives.

Comment What's next in your career? (Score 2) 244

Hi, I think it depends on what do you want to do next. If going into academy, master's/PhD degree, then I would say that it helps a lot to have one article published. However, if you are thinking going enterprise, I think most of those people do not care much about publications. It also depends on the quality of your work. If it is something really good, I think it might be worth going. Have you asked the University or your advisor for funds to go? If your work is really good, I think the University would have no problem at all paying for your expenses.
