Classic Games (Games)

Journal jawtheshark's Journal: The games of my childhood (and teenage years) 18

So, installing my sister's future PC (and throwing away money on SD-Ram that doesn't work in this machine *sigh* Somebody got to explain to me why having chips at both sides of the stick is such a big issue for older machines). Anyways, my classic Windows 2000 installation done, the essential tools setup for a future student, I had still a good 4 Gigs left.

Now, since she won't have a TV, and I had better spent money on a DVD player for her instead of these ram sticks, I though "entertainment!" Yeah, but my sister is a difficult one in PC games. Quake II and so won't do, neither the tons of racing games my brother has. She loves Anno 1503 though, so I went through my archives and found Settlers 2. That's an old DOS game. No sound under Windows 2000.... unless.... you use this . It's magic! ;-) I think I'm going to install it on my x86 machine too.

Anyways, talking with my sister about old games, we came to the topic of the good old Sierra Adventure games. Then I recalled Tierra Entertainment . While I have never been a big fan of the King's Quest series (I'm a space quest man), I decided to give it a shot.

Well, I have been simply amazed! Instead of building a case, as I was supposed to, I spent this sunny afternoon playing King's Quest I on my sister's future computer. I just launched King's Quest II, and it promises to be even better. (Amazing Intro, I'm still downing the Digital Music pack).

So, all amateurs of the Sierra Adventure games: pull down those games now, and start wasting time.
