Journal jawtheshark's Journal: The games of my childhood (and teenage years) 18
Now, since she won't have a TV, and I had better spent money on a DVD player for her instead of these ram sticks, I though "entertainment!" Yeah, but my sister is a difficult one in PC games. Quake II and so won't do, neither the tons of racing games my brother has. She loves Anno 1503 though, so I went through my archives and found Settlers 2. That's an old DOS game. No sound under Windows 2000.... unless.... you use this . It's magic!
Anyways, talking with my sister about old games, we came to the topic of the good old Sierra Adventure games. Then I recalled Tierra Entertainment . While I have never been a big fan of the King's Quest series (I'm a space quest man), I decided to give it a shot.
Well, I have been simply amazed! Instead of building a case, as I was supposed to, I spent this sunny afternoon playing King's Quest I on my sister's future computer. I just launched King's Quest II, and it promises to be even better. (Amazing Intro, I'm still downing the Digital Music pack).
So, all amateurs of the Sierra Adventure games: pull down those games now, and start wasting time.

I loved it. I don't know how old I was, when I spent hours trying to get past the age-verification. Writing down every question and every answer that I already replied. Later I found out about Alt-X, and now if I load it up, I get past it just by knowing the answer. It wasn't a too bad age-verification: some of the general knowledge in there was good. That was Larry 1, and it fit on one 3 1/2 inch floppy.
I played them up to Larry 6. I don't know if any others were released after that. (Of c

I haven't got around to compleating it, its about 500meg, I can send you an iso if you are interested but the magic is gone.
I liked it when you had the text interface now you just randomly click on everything.

Well, if you can put Larry 7 somewhere to download, I'd glady download it and give it a try. However, due to my bandwith constrains, it would take about 24 hours to download it. I guess that opera.com is not your domain, so I just can't assume you have bandwith spare ;-)
About the text interface. Yes, that was one of the big appeals back in the day. I loved it too,
