I couldn't believe how crappy it looked. It really was pathetic. Then I went back into http:\\slashdot.org\users.pl [http] hit "Write in Journal" there, and it took me to the old, non-borked entry form.

I usually get to the form a different route that right now doesn't take me to the new one. So it took me a bit to find it.

This looks a lot like the new submission form. Unfortunately it isn't very easy to use yet.

I just went to the "Write in Journal" link, and it looks the same to me -- or am I missing something?

Maybe you disabled a part of the new Web 2.0 thingy. Anyway, if you got it enabled... Go to http://slashdot.org/my/journal [slashdot.org] then scroll down till the bottom of the page where the "Write journal" button is, and click it. If this description makes no sense, I'm pretty sure you disabled the "new-and-improved" Web 2.0 interface. They could use a good designer here, one who actually knows his stuff and doesn't put important buttons like "Write Journal" on the bottom of a page.
