Comment What is the role of the President of the US? (Score 1) 916

The United States' Constitution, article two defines the position of the President of the United States (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Article_Two_of_the_United_States_Constitution). There are many things which no one argues with, such as the qualifications and election day. However, there are other things that have provoked serious differences of opinion, such as Executive Privilege. From things that have been said in this campaign and things done by past Presidents, I think we can say that there is no universally agreed upon definition of the role of the President. To me, this definition is one of the most important aspects of my choice of President.

So, in your opinion, what is the role of the President? For extra credit, how does the role of the President intersect with the roles of the legislative and judicial branches of government? At what point does the power of the President end and the power of Congress or the Courts begin?
