Look at the Crusades, and tell me they should not have been fought. Tell me that the Holy Wars were ridiculous. Tell me that we should have let pilgrims be slaughtered.
Look at the Franco-Prussian War, tell me it had no use. Tell me that creating a situation which, in part, led to another useful war, World War I, was not a good idea.
Look at Nicaragua, and tell me the death squads should not have been supported, that years of bloody in-fighting and turmoil were useless.
Look at Afghanistan, and tell me chaos should be avoided.
Look at Panama, and tell me that it posed no threat.
Look at Afghanistan, and tell me Bin Laden should not have been funded.
Look at Chile, and tell me that a military coup was not good. Tell me the Pinochet and years of torture were bad.
Look, either side can come up with loads of wars, intervention, and "aid" that were a good idea, or a bad one. Yes, there are certainly some wars worth fighting, but the vast majority are not. We're right back where it all began, at Caesar, at "I came, I saw, I conquered." It's all empty rhetoric, no matter how you look at it. We have learned nothing.
