This is not good really. You either make it the default, or don't bother having it. I have an iPhone and went looking for the option. It isn't even in the menu for me. Having a feature that is so buried in options an menus tells me that you didn't want people to use it in the first place. I guess if you want to message securely, you wouldn't really use Instagram in the first place.

Comment Professional coder vs non-professional coder (Score 1) 61

There is a major difference between a professional coder with years of knowledge and experience vibe coding and someone that doesn't that that. A professional coder can look at what AI outputs and easily understand if what is given is any good, and what needs to be fixed. They will also have experience to describe in detail what is required. They will also understand any potential security implications. A non-professional coder is not going to know those kind of things, and will miss things that could be a massive headache down the road.

Comment AI companies should pay for data they use (Score 1) 240

How is it fair that AI companies want to ingest as much data as possible to help their AI's to learn, without paying for that data. Then they charge people to use their AI. Great if you are a not for profit, but it you are making money off other peoples hard work or data, then you should also pay for it.

What is the point? My current fridge is 15 years old. It is still a decent fridge. It doesn't need replacing. I would rather have a fridge that lasts, than a fridge that needs to be replaced on a schedule like a smartphone. Same with the washing machine and the coffee machine. Not everything needs to be disposable.
