istr develops both closed and open source software. During the last years he mainly worked at the two projects http://shop.allmaxx.de (ceased) and http://shop.spiegel.de (still maintenance and minor adaptions). He followed a call for assistance and joined the OWASP project at a very early stage. Starting over with the development of WebScarab, OWASP's projected web application scanner, he now focuses on the two subprojects VulnXML (shall be merged with WAS-XML) and OCL - the former being the showcase application for the latter aiming to be a fast, lightweight and security centered library for java based web applications. Beyond that he is active developer and co-chair of OpenISIS (http://openisis.org), a re-implementation of UNESCO's full-text database. Currently he's looking for a possibility to turn the voluntary work of at least one of the OpenSource projects into something to make an unboasting living from. He spends the other half of working hours majoring in communication science and maths.
