In many ways, this is just insane rambling, but it's certainly entertaining on some levels." From the article: "That would make the battle between OS X and Linux the most interesting one on the computer scene. With all attention turned in that direction, there would be nothing Microsoft could do to stem a reversal of its fortunes. Let's start at the beginning. There's been a lot of fuss over Apple's rollout of the unsupported Boot Camp product, which lets Mac users run Microsoft Windows easily on an Intel-based Macintosh. I got into various levels of trouble when I suggested that Apple was going to gravitate towards Windows since it would be easy to do and there was some evidence that the company might want to do it."

Poor power quality caused by electrical feedback and harmonics from consumer electronics are cited as a possible cause of various 'physiological stress' problems. While previous research in this area looked for connections between EM fields and cancer, some research is now looking into possible connections to fatigue, headaches, depression, and other symptoms. From the article: 'If electricity were flowing in a constant way, most people's bodies would likely adapt, but with all the interference from modern devices, the resulting fields are too variable for people to get used to.'"

I'll tell you why people aren't using MythTV. You need at least $400 in hardware (If you're a true hardware bargin shopper) unless you have old computers lying around like most of the slashdot crowd probably has. The core audience for Tivo is for people that aren't techheads. The service through verizon is probably made to be easy as hell to setup and use. Sure they could surf to the tivo.com site but guess what? Mobile web is $5 a month on Verizon as well. If you don't have mobile-web and own a Tivo you might be likely to go with this service instead. Personally I run a Beyond TV DVR and a Tivo for my mother who isn't tech literate.
