John Smith starts another day early, having set his alarm clock (made in China) for 6am. While his coffee pot (made in Canada) is perking a brew (made in Colombia), he puts his hair dryer to work (made in Taiwan) and shaves with his electric razor (made in Thailand). He puts on a dress shirt (made in Indonesia), and jeans (made in Singapore) and a pair of tennis shoes (made in Korea). After cooking up some breakfast in his new electric skillet (made in the Philippines), he sits down to figure out on his calculator (made in Mexico) how much he can spend today. He searches with his computer (made in Malaysia) and makes a few calls on his phone (made in Finland). After setting his watch (made in Switzerland) to the radio (made in India), he goes out and gets in his car (made in Germany), fills it with gas (made in Saudi Arabia) and goes looking, as he has been for months, for a job. At the end of another discouraging and fruitless day, John decides to relax for a while. He puts on a pair of sandals (made in Brazil), pours himself a glass of wine (made in France), and turns on his TV (made in Japan) and once again wonders why he can't find a good paying job (in America).

i'd love to have such an advanced and futuristic car as these new EVs, but i don't feel like the world (or at least the country) is ready yet to make it practical or convenient to own one. i wouldn't be doing myself any favours. Anyway, China actually has a decent electric car, and cheap. The WULING MINI EV (check it out on YouTube). But naturally they won't give them license to sell them in the U.S. (imagine that). Even if they did, you know they'd triple the price for Americans (just because). But it shows the U.S. doesn't need to charge so much for the revolution to electric. We need to make it more important to save the world from pollution than making money! Greed wins in that argument... Wuling Hongguang Mini EV is $5000 American: https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

We are just insignificant bugs to them and they're not interested. Will anyone entertain the idea that we fancy ourselves far more important than we really are in the grand scheme of the Universe? We humans are not the center of the cosmos! The religious have put people to death for saying that. It's poignant. Remember Giordano Bruno?
