Yes, you are smart and nothing of this sort will ever happened to you! But, out of blessed ignorance, are wrong in all your assumptions 1. Most of the card are purchased with cards (debit, credit). so you will have a proof of payment! 2. If you purchase something with stolen money, you risk losing the purchase. And in overwhelmingly majority of cases, the end user of the card purchased at a discount from a 'black' website with suspiciously big discount. 3. This is becoming an industry of fraud and money laundering and Apple for the greed on the 30% commission did not want to curb-it. 4. It will be very easy for Apple to take some action and you will see the scammers moving to another field (maybe going back to "the prince from Nigeria') 5. You may be insulting some grandfathers who were convinced that they help, or make happy their grandkids (the scammers pose in persons you know and love and/or respect) 6. If you have been wondering, yes, I was one of the "some dumb fuck".

EA Editor Criticizes Command & Conquer 4 DRM 266

Command & Conquer 4's DRM hasn't garnered Electronic Arts as much bad press and fan outrage as Ubisoft's scheme, despite being very similar. Nevertheless, it's been causing problems and frustrations for some users, including EA.com's own editor-in-chief, Jeff Green. An anonymous reader points this out: "Green wrote on his Twitter account late last week: 'Booted twice — and progress lost — on my single-player C&C4 game because my DSL connection blinked. DRM fail. We need new solutions.' He continued later, 'Well. I've tried to be open-minded. But my 'net connection is finicky — and the constant disruption of my C&C4 SP game makes this unplayable. The story is fun, the gameplay is interesting and different at least — but if you suffer from shaky/unreliable DSL — you've been warned.'"

BlackBerry Bold Tops Radiation Ranking 189

geek4 writes with this excerpt from eWeek Europe: "Data from the Environmental Working Group places the BlackBerry Bold 9700 as the mobile device with the highest legal levels of cell phone radiation among popular smartphones. Research In Motion's BlackBerry Bold 9700 scores the highest among popular smartphones for exposing users to the highest legal levels of cell phone radiation, according to the latest 2010 Environmental Working Group ranking. Following the Bold 9700 are the Motorola Droid, the LG Chocolate and Google's HTC Nexus One. The rankings still put the phones well within federal guidelines and rules."
