IE8 = Standards Compliant by Default

innocence18 writes: The IE8 team announced today that due a recent Microsoft publication and considerable feedback form the development community that IE8 will NOT require developers to opt in for full W3C standards compliance. IE8 will render in full standards mode by default and developers wishing to use quirks mode for IE6 and IE7 compatible rendering will be required to specifically opt in. This might be the most sensible move in Microsoft's history. The render modes in IE8 have previously been discussed on Slashdot here and here.
