BlackBerry Delays Launch of BBM Apps For iOS, Android 54

USA Today reports: "BlackBerry on Saturday hit pause on the rollout of iPhone and Android apps for its popular BlackBerry Messenger mobile social messaging service after an unreleased version of the Android app was posted online. That version saw 1.1 million active users in the first 8 hours, the company said, but the unofficial version "caused issues," which the company continued to address throughout the day. The company did not specify what the issues were."

For feature like tab stacking I have long dreamed. I always end up with loads of tabs open during the day.

As for extensions, it's not something I really have missed, but a lot of my friends criticized Opera for not having extensions like FireFox does. They open a whole new dimension of possibilities for the browser.

Chrome is WebKit based.

I totally agree. It's good for users, it's good for Opera Software. It's the way things happen in buissiness and I don't see anything wrong with that.It's certainly an application that will make my life easier, as it's everyday that I need to share a pic or two with friends.
And we're moving towards an Operating System that consists if one application - the Web Browser. And I wouldn't be surprised if other browser will follow similar path.

Flash/SWG, 3. Silverlight/XAML, 4. SVG. The non-open proprietary nature of #2 & #3 make them unattractive. Since EMF+ is not amenable to easy editing, it leaves SVG as the only format worth pursuing. The trouble is that the major vendors have a lock on the market with their proprietary formats; leaving SVG high and dry with no easy native OS support. At least not on Windows. From what I could learn on the intertubes, Cairo is the best, if not only, reasonable system that may enable compiled SVG support. Unfortunately, AFAIK, it comes with a price tag of >2MB overhead and the C++ bindings are not straightforward."
