Comment Recent seamless order (Score 1) 179

The food deliver business in the US market isn't viable. It solves an unique problem, but the volume of people doing those vs the operation cost will get rid of GrubHub or seamless. My recent order with Seamless (North Little Rock - Arkansas) took for ever. A driver had to drive from the other corner, pickup and deliver with 2 delays notified to me. The cost of the order was drastically high just for 2 food order entries. This food delivery business is going with flying colors in India, the volume of people are high, the bikes are a big boon, on boarding drivers is easy. Swiggy bought UberEats and is ruling the roost in india. The cost of the order is pretty cheap, so people use that a lot.

I have yet to see any problem, however complicated, which, when you looked at it in the right way, did not become still more complicated. -- Poul Anderson
