Also the NSLU2 can be upgraded to debian through purely software upgrades. The power supply tops out at 10W. I use one with a 1GB flash drive for web, ssh and file serving (though I use sftp rather than nfs).

Virtual systems will NOT properly reflect the overhead. The I/O costs in a VM are much higher than those on real hardware. Test the system you are going to have, not a mock-up.

And promise to buy stuff they advertise, etc. (perhaps suggest some stuff the geeks like to buy anyway).

Make sure they know the fans care about this move and that we want more please!
