The reason for this was posted earlier. You can't write to a disk fast enough to record what the camera is feeding to memory at high frame rates (250k x 1,000 per second). This is one of the reasons the costs are up, and the users are few for this technology. It is a very small camera with internal memory options of up to gigabyte which is quite impressive.
