Most reporters miss the point. BitCoin's strength is not as a currency, it's too slow. It takes at least 10 minutes to confirm a transaction.
You're not going to wait 10 mins to buy a coffee at Starbucks.
BitCoin will not go away because it serves as an internet payment system. It's way less to pay because wallet-to-wallet it costs a fraction of a dollar, no matter what the amount. It's an incentive for internet sellers because there's no chargeback threat and they save 4% in fees otherwise charged by system like PayPal. ofcourse they could shift the 4% as a discount to the buyer as an incentive to shop with BitCoin.
