Seeing as how most if not ALL if the AIs had used open source software for their training, I would find it hard to believe it was a clean room approach. Perhaps if they can prove the original open source software wasn't used in it's training, then I could be convinced it was done in a clean room.

If they just remove a tax break or two for the billionaires, I am sure there will be plenty of money for this. Or they can move some ICE funds around to pay for them. They paid to put this admin in place, they should pay for this war we didn't vote for too!

Of course, I doubt I would call it a clean room design, especially if the AI was trained with that open source project. Once it has seen that original code in it's training, it's quite difficult to convince me that it didn't rely on that code in any way.

We also saw when so many overzealous "law enforcement" people were sent to the likes of DC, Minneapolis, etc. They go in looking for trouble and if they don't find it, they agitate enough to "find" trouble. There is a delicate balance between the right amount and the right type of law enforcement. As with everyone else, they should not have any kind of blanket immunity, we have witnessed so many tragic outcomes due to this policy.

I knew these "good" guys would be totally incompetent. I mean, they literally fired most of our counter-intelligence most knowledgeable people. What we have left are mostly just the "yes" men that don't really know what they are doing. Their mentors were all fired either due to DOGE or their perceived DEI hires. They have completely hobbled our intelligence. They even specifically removed all the Russian counter-intelligence we used to have. So this is not unexpected, I would expect quite a bit of bad news to come in the future because of this.

I would hope they have practices in place to safeguard against actual discrimination, which this admin is totally for as long as only white/right people get the jobs. Which is/was the only reason DEI existed in the first place. Cronyism is why we have so much incompetence in this country, just because your parent/grandparent was smart or business savvy doesn't mean their demon seed is too.

I think we really need to deport the freeloading billionaires, they are the ones sucking us dry and forcing that crap on all of us. But we are stupid and keep giving them more and more power, in the remote chance we might be one someday.

It wasn't the "we" that is causing the problem. The issue is every billionaire out there wants their own AI, so they are willing to outspend every other billionaire in building out their data centers and training their own LLMs. In the end, we will end up with a very small handful of successful ones and the rest, just wasted billions of dollars and eWaste because their egos told them they are smarter than the rest of the billionaires and they are the only ones capable of succeeding.

I really hope someone smarter (not that it is that hard with these guys) ensures that there are adequate backups of everything these clowns are purging. These actions are very dangerous and will bite us in the ass one day.

Based on the article you leaked, he was aggressive in plugging the leaks inside the government. He didn't appear to arrest journalists and seize their devices for an unlawful search. I have no issue with any president attempting to stop their government from leaking classified information, including our current one. I do have a huge issue with the search and seizure of journalists for the sole reason of finding their confidential leak. We are way beyond becoming the next North Korea or Hungary, this is not OK.
