Do you think you are the only person in the world to realize that neural nets are not perfect?
The point is, the filtering system doesn't have to work perfectly, just most of the time. And if it works better than conventional filters, then that's all that one can hope for at the moment.
And your strawman examples are irrelevant; adult content filtering (based just on text) has a good chance of working.
