I'm a big fan of linux, specifically the Debian based distributions (Debian, Ubuntu, Elementary OS). For the most part they are easy to use and highly customisable. However it's now been 20 years of solid improvements on the desktop and the masses haven't turned away from windows and MacOS. I just don't see people's behaviour changing that much...
