Well, I ended up going to the book signing, and the author didn't show up. However, the illustrator did show up, and basically he and I chatted for about 45 minutes. The guy is awesome, and has some great work. He is just starting out so hopefully this will give his career a boost. His day job is construction, but just talking to him I picked up on the "must do art" vibe. I told him not to smash his fingers at work and that I really liked his art :-) If I can get him to get
