I got my hands on Ultima IV when I was 10 years old, and it was literally a life-changing experience. Now, more than 25 years later, I'm still hooked on the Ultima titles.
It appears that PL/I (and its dialects) is, or will be, the most widely used higher level language for systems programming. -- J. Sammet
