Fair use is also limited in amount and scope of usage. When you *buy* a book, you can fairly use a certain percentage of the book--I believe it's 15%--but if it's a compilation of works, then you can't excerpt a whole short story, for example. In terms of scope, you can use it for personal reasons or for some educational purposes.

So last night I tossed and turned trying to figure out what I was going to teach today. I have the 11th grade and 9th grade. The 11th grade classes have gone horrendously all year; the 9th hasn't been bad at all. The problem is that I'm doing the Modernism vs. Post-modernism unit with 11th, starting off with Fast, Cheap & Out of Control, and I forgot the DVD at home for the second class in a row.

Been thinking about starting another on-line journal, but couldn't really figure out a theme or reason. So I'm going with a vague theme and a vague reason. I'm going to make notes and comments on my days of teaching compulsory Computer Science at the Somerville Charter School. Ha. Take that, ego!
