Sneak Preview For Coming KDE SC 4.5 249

omlx writes "KDE SC 4.5 is in feature freeze right now. Therefore, I decided to share some early screenshots with you. In general there are no major changes; it's all about polishing and fixing bugs. There are a lot of under-the-hood changes in libs, which as end users we cannot see. KDE SC will be released in August 2010." Note: you can also try out a beta of the release now, if you'd like.

Submission + - 'World passport' to nowhere

hackerdownunder writes: A 'World Passport' from a 'World Government' on the World Wide Web. Interested? A Hyderabad city lad got just that from a website that assured it was really real. But instead of arriving in the US, the passport landed him in the cooler when Begumpet airport officials stopped his flight of fancy right at the immigration counter.

The FAQ at http://www.worldservice.org/wcwfaq.html has this to say:

But do any nations already accept it? Yes. The WSA has on files photocopies of visas, entry, residence and exit, from over 150 nations stamped on its passports sent by actual bearers. These are case-by-case, or de facto acceptance. A few nations, Togo, Mauritania, Ecuador, Zambia, Tanzania, Burkina Faso have accepted the WSA passport on a de juris or juridical basis. (See booklet, Government Validation of the WSA Passport — This booklet may be ordered from our catalog, in the basic documents section).
