Hey, cars, buildings, suits and dresses are often called works of art, but the *artists* who create them need to continue to produce new works if they want to eat. Why do writers and musicians get a free ride? Imagine if you went to your boss and told him you want to continue to generate income for the work you did last week - or last year! He'd have your seat refilled faster than you can say "DMCA".
