greengrass's Journal: U3 is evil

I've finally admitted defeat and re-booted my laptop back into MS Windows XP: yuck!

I couldn't find a solution to removing U3 from a new USB thumb drive I purchased on Boxing Day from PC world. A day and a half googling for a Linux solution to removing this piece of crud and getting back the 60M or so of storage forced me to use the "official" Windows 2000/XP only solution: U3 UNINSTALL.EXE

I found other people had this problem as early as June 2006, but I couldn't find a way to remove this evil from my USD drive.

I'll re-visit this problem in about 6 months and in for now, I be very sure not to purchase any U3 enabled devices until there is a Linux solution.
