Submission + - Time to discuss drug prohibition? (wsj.com) 1
gplus writes: December 5'th was the 75'th anniversary of the alcohol prohibition in the US. Wall Street Journal has an op-ed that argues, that now may be the time to discuss our war on drugs and the drug prohibition we have now. The article argues that: "Most Americans in 1933 could recall a time before prohibition, which tempered their fears. But few Americans now can recall the decades when the illicit drugs of today were sold and consumed legally. If they could, a post-prohibition future might prove less alarming."
So. Is it because we don't remember a time where narcotics were legal, that we (us voters) fear their legalization so much?
