Comment tech stocks will be the big winners (Score -1) 72

Whats going to happen is companies are going to lay off a lot of people. That is going to make companies more profitable, because their expenses will drop. That increased profitability will cause these companies stock price to go up, to reflect the increased profits. In other words, the beneficiaries of ai will be people who own stocks. Workers will be worse off, with higher unemployment and lower wages. So what a smart person would do today is buy stock in companies that will see increased profits from productivity increases. I own several chinese tech stocks. I am not going to sell. Why would I? As ai becomes more widespread its going to make the chinese tech companies rich, including their shareholders.

This just shows you how biased the media is. Instead of presenting both sides and being impartial they just portray one person as the victim. The fact is there was no black samurai's in the past in Japan. This is the definition of pushing an agenda - instead of being factual, they push an agenda on race and gender. They just don't get it. These people literally think they're doing the same thing as the people who marched with Martin Luther King Jr. Give me a break. No one is oppressing these people. The negativity this person received was self inflicted. Then they point fingers and act like the victim. They just dont get it, and will never get it. The problem is them.

What you are watching is the US waiving the white flag and ceding its leadership position in the world to China. Chinese companies used to be heavily dependent on US companies. But under the "leadership" of Biden he has forced Chinese companies to be more independent. That makes it more likely China will invade Taiwan, because China doesn't have to worry as much about a US block aid of China over military action in Taiwan. In the future China will lead and dominate the world. Americans will grow accustomed to a diminished role in the world. Americans will be poorer, with a lower quality of life. Thats what I call weakened western leadership. And yet no one cares

I'm not buying any of this. If there's a backdoor built into telecoms for wiretapping, then why not change the password, or the port the wiretap is done? It seems more likely a spy has been leaking information to China, so they came up with this cover story. If they know that the chinese have been listening to calls as of a week ago, then why cant they block them? Makes no sense.

It's like writing a book with Donald Trump quotes, and yet Donald Trump gets no money from the book. It's a loophole that he's made a lot of money on. He just repeats things over and over that he's heard from other people. He's actually not that original, just good at copying other people. I don't listen to a thing he says.

I think its important to put everything into context. In arizona to build a new house the developer has to prove there is a 100 year supply of water. In places that are running out of ground water, such as Pinal County, they cannot use ground water for this equation. That is the proper way of building. In contract, in California a builder only has to prove a ** 20 year ** supply of water. Even if there's no water they can use credits and offsets to get around this. For some reason everyone is focusing on Arizona and not California. Where would you rather want to live? A place with a 100 year guaranteed supply of fresh drinking water, or a place that might have up to 20 years but might not because credits and offsets were used instead? I would be more nervous about living in CA than AZ.

In the Bible, written thousands of years ago, it talks about the first sin. Man wants fruit of a tree, which represents knowledge. But he does not have understanding. And yet, every day since, people are committing this sin every day. It's really unbeliveable when you think about it. Something that was wisdom thousands of years ago and yet 90% of the public do not understand this. Without understanding you cannot have knowledge. Simply knowing something isn't knowledge. In 1994 I was a bagger at a food store. I worked with another bagger, "JC". He was in his 40's/50's, had a family. Yet he was bagging groceries for a living making $4.25/hour. I later found out he had worked at IBM as a programmer but was laid off when they did mass layoffs. One day I asked him why he didnt get a job as a programmer. Wouldnt that pay more than bagging groceries? His response was all the computer jobs were going away. There was no future for programmers. This was a couple years before the internet became a thing. If he would have simply stayed a programmer he would have made a ton of money. Instead of he was fired for shoplifting (he walked out with a loaf of bread he didnt pay for. That's right, fired over $2 bread). So i think the lesson here, for those of you younger, is ignore all the other comments on this site. There will always be good paid programming jobs. There's always something new on the horizon, and that big new thing will need high priced programmers. Keep doing what youre doing, otherwise one day youll be bagging groceries for minimum wage, and maybe youll get fired for stealing a loaf of bread. He was pathetic. Dont be "JC".
