I feel like I hear this argument a lot from people who enjoy consuming trash, generally movies and food - "It's not supposed to be "high art"; not everything needs to be interesting, intelligent, non-formulaic, well-made etc" Does Hollywood still produce art films? It seems to me if you live outside of a major city you don't really have options if you want to see a "good" film... I've been living in Jakarta the past year and a half and I know that here we ONLY get crap films from America.
