Comment Re:Whats up with the second "No" option? (Score 1) 1300

From the beginning it showed clear that the second "No" was much less popular than the others. Right now there are already around 157 voters and the trend seems to continue. I am wondering if their is any psychological explanation for this?
Of course there is. It just might not be correct.

Here goes my interpretation of what I think happened:

0) Understand that the Red Sox will not win.
1) You don't want to pick the 1st 'no' because everyone else will.
2) You don't want to pick the 2nd one because everyone not picking the 1st one will pick that one.
3) You don't want to pick the last one, because that would seem like you were really indecisive and were left with one only one.
4) You don't want to pick the 2nd last one, because that would look like you were indecisive before that and backtracked and picked the next most obvious choice.
5) You don't want to pick the 3rd last one because that would be the next obvious choice...
6) The one left now seems like the obvious choice. But because it is the obvious choice, it should not be chosen.
7) Consider picking the Cowboyneal option.
8) Think a little more and try guess differently from everyone else, based on what you think you would do.

Basically people want to do something kind of random, but fail.

I'm sure there's been another poll that was similar in the past year or so, but can't find it. Maybe someone there had a better explaination for why the results look like they do.

I think not. This writing is not very good. Heck, I even found a sentence fragment. Maybe with that unemployed time he can check his grammer more carefully. (Not that I mean to belittle his situation, but let's not go around calling people great writers just because some of us might share his feelings.)
