I'm so glad it's Friday. This has been a pretty busy week. Got the ceiling tile in the basement finished up. The last tile was a little tough to get in. I'm pretty pleased with how things look overall. Definitely glad I had the office room to "practice" with before doing the larger rec room. It was definitely satisfying to do the entire thing myself. Pictures will be posted this weekend on my server.

Speaking of web sites, I'm looking at installing an open source web site framework called DotNetNuke. It's build on the portal framework, which I've been using. I started creating a blog site built on the portal, but it is a little kludgey. I'm also looking for some good code for handling pictures. A friend sent me some code to display all the images in a directory, but I also want to hook some text to it. Any other .NETters out there using DotNetNuke?

Going to see the Matrix Reloaded tonight.. My wife actually wants to go! She liked the first one. I want to see it before all the spoilers are out (looking at my slashdot messages, I may be too late!). From what I've read it sounds like it's not quite as big of a disappointment as I thought it would be (you know with all the sequel hype and whatnot).

FK Photo Contest
I thought it went pretty well, but in retrospect it's almost more fun imagining what people look like rather than actually knowing :) I think I was pleasantly suprised that most people in the FK circle look pretty "normal". I noticed some people were talking about possibly doing another contest about pets or voices, sounds like fun. Basically all of these types of things seem to be indicating that we're looking for a more "personal" slashdot. I got an idea.. lets all have a slashdot meetup at FK's new house :)

  • Of course, I don't have room for anyone to sleep in the house, so you gotta find a hotel, but I'd be willing to let people in.
    • Sure... I'm going to pay 600Euro to fly to Cinny and then pay for a hotel. I Don't think so. ;-)

        • She does, yes. However, if I'd pay 600Euro for a plane ticket, I'd rather stay for a week or two. Spirit00 doesn't seem to get any days off in the near future. It doesn't make much sense for me to go to Cinny if she's at work the whole day or has to study.

          Apart from that, I already blew the occasion of getting off this summer myself. I was rather rude towards my boss about that "getting off in the summer thing". (Long story, short: They nagged me to know when I was going to take off July or August.

    • So you're saying you don't want a bunch of slashdotters camping out in your living room?? :) I can't understand why not??!
