If everything's so fine, then what keeps you thinking and not hacking?Actually I have been thinking for some time about hacking the PSP to use as a dedicated remote (no game use)
Or maybe, if you trust Sony so much, upgrade fw to 2.7, then try again. They may have added extra "functionality"
Oh, I forgot, newer firmware versions may further prevent any useful application from running...
The same potential that makes you dreaming, makes me angry.
I own a PSP and a PSTwo, I can also imagine a lot of features that could take advantage of their pretty harware,
but instead of implementing anything, I see Sony limiting their abilities.
What's the use of PSTwo usb? Or PSTwo network card? They too, had a great potential...
Why can't I use a usb stick for saving games, instead of their overprized memory-sticks? It's about losing money, heh?
Why can't I use a usb hard disk with PS2 for music and videos ? Is it because Sony sees me as a potential pirate?
What about UMD? If they wanted something read only and proprietary, why not use a cartridge, which is less battery consuming,
makes no noise and is more resistant to scratches? Cause for them it's cheaper, while for us, they don't care.
Oh, I forgot again, UMD has such a potential, that's why they use it...
Neither do I, and, as a suggestion, don't hold your breath.I have no idea if Sony is actually planning to do any of those things
Considering Sony's attitude so far, it shall not provide any feature that doesn't include it making money.
It's a company after all, it has to make money, but the way it tries to do it is really arrogant.
