And thought the latest movie was super dumb. The effects were cool but writing was trash. The characters went from China to Antarctica to Mexico to Boston in, like, about 24 hours? I'm not a stickler for realism (I'm watching a monster movie after all) but it was just really weak storytelling. The aural device was sort of a strange MacGuffin, too.

I've spent the vast majority of my life, from Windows 3.1 all the way to OS X Mojave, hacking around on computers. Yet I'm thankful as heck that I grew up playing in the dirt and reading books. The screen is not a good place to be. It's my career, but it's just not a good way to raise a kid.
