The words 'error' and 'exception' do not have fixed interpretations. Indeed, they can be the exact opposite of your usage: http://www.haskell.org/haskellwiki/Error_vs._Exception.
If builders built buildings the way programmers wrote programs, then the first woodpecker to come along would destroy civilization.
