There have been plenty of incidences in which paywalled journals have also been shown to, um, let dodgy papers through. Although I agree, it would be interesting to see what happened with an identical test :) Also, here's another take on the entire thing - it's not open access vs paywalled, it's peer review (and shows an awesome opportunity to improve it!). http://www.theguardian.com/science/grrlscientist/2013/oct/08/1
