I quite agree with you!

I like the ingenuity of the work!

However, for just about the same kind of money (at least here in Venezuela) I would slightly modify a lightweight wall TV & DVD Stand (somewhat like the kind you might see at hospitals) and could get the same effectivness with a lot more peace of mind and would get a keyboard/mouse out of the way storage shelf.

I won't promise to do it NOW since I am now some 200mi from home and will not return for a couple of weeks. But as soon as I get to it I'll post my solution!
