I'm using Firefox 1.0 and when I right-clicked the navigation toolbar and chose "customize", there was a mail icon available. I dragged it to the toolbar and now have a button which spawns Thunderbird. I have installed a bunch of extensions, so I'm not sure if this button was in the default set or not.

If there is such a thing as a nutshell when talking of people, this is me in one: Happily married and loving life with my husband, three cats and two dogs. I am a geek who cut her computer teeth taking BASIC I & II when going for a programming degree in the late 1980's, but changed her major to business management and marketing because she couldn't imagine staring at a CRT and talking to a mainframe all day. Using Wordstar and fiddling with those awful dot commands was bad enough...The computers at school were state-of-the-art IBM's with dual 5 1/4" floppy drives! My/our first computer was a freebie hand-me-down 486 we were given in 1992. It ran Windows 3.1 and we laugh to think we paid $100 for 4mb of RAM and that was a *steal*. I've been hooked ever since.
